Christmas 2009

This is such an amazing time of year! Although it can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, with all the things to do, people to see, gifts to buy and places to travel...in the end, I am always sad when it is over. This is Kash's 2nd Christmas and the first that I think he actually started to understand the concept of presents...if I rip all this colored paper off, underneath there will be something for me to play with! YEAH! It has been such a joy watching him experience all of this and teaches me to look at Christmas through his eyes. He was certainly very spoiled by all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents and Santa this year!
With grandparents living in different parts of the state, we ended up having 3 Christmas events this year...one with Grandpa Davis and Grandpa Bruce at our house. We were supposed to head up north last weekend, but Kash had been sick with yet another ear infection last week, so they were wonderful enough to come down and see us.
Grandpa Davis and Grandpa Bruce opening their gifts from Kash...or should I say Kash is opening their gifts!

Here is the big one...

Daddy loved opening it as much as Kash did!

Kashtin got his first bike from them and he was not sure what to make of it at first. It is the Radio Flyer Go and Grow bike...it is serioulsy the cutest thing ever!
After a great meal and lots of AMAZING gifts, we settled in for the night and were so very glad that they were here to celebrate with us!

Next, we were off to Grandpa and Grandma Mickelson's house for Christmas Eve. We were not sure that we would make it with the Minnesota snowstorm that was among us, but mother nature let up for a bit and we safely traveled over to Apple Valley for another night of good fun, lots of presents, games, laughter and most of all...family!

My parents had a very pretty tree and we were amazed at the amount of presents that were under it! We must have been REALLY good this year!

Kash and Mommy...he looked so cute in his Christmas sweater!

Auntie Sarah brought over a fun game to play! It was a little bit competitive!

In typical Kash fashion, he got into the tupperware.

Hanging out with Grandma...typing on the laptop.

Auntie Sarah and me...she is such a nut!

Kash trying to hook the laptop up again.

It sure is great to have Grandma to change diapers...
Kash is covering his eyes...he is hoping she knows what she is doing!

Let the present opening begin!!

It was so much fun!

The weather started to get bad again...so we put Kash in his jams, loaded up the truck, and headed home. Mom and Dad needed to get things ready for santa to visit the next morning! With the snow falling like crazy it ended up taking us about 45 mintutes to get home. We saw about 8 cars in the ditch, but we made it safely.

We were supposed to head to Amery Wisconsin to see Grandma Rose on Christmas day, but the snow did not allow that to happen. We are headed there next weekend for our 3rd and final Christmas! Look for more pictures to come from that!
